Aaron Sandilands hung up his oversized boots on the weekend, thus bringing an end to another illustrious career from the draft class with the most impressive alumni – the 2001 superdraft. Only two careers from the ’01 draft remain ongoing; Geelong’s little master in Gary Ablett and Hawthorn legend-cum-Brisbane Lion Luke Hodge. The superdraft shaped two premiership eras (Geelong 2007-2011) and Hawthorn (2013-2015) and has provided the game with a calvulcade of champions like its never before seen.
